The IB Middle Years Program (MYP) spans grades 7 to 10, with students aged 13–16 years old.
Through the MYP, our focus is on helping students recognize connections between different subject areas. They are challenged to engage in critical thinking and develop independence. Throughout these years, they are well-prepared to face the challenges of further education and life in general.
The MYP is a challenging and engaging course of study. Students need:
- to actively take responsibility for their learning.
- to work and collaborate closely with others.
- to explore novel ways of understanding and inquiring into the world around them.
The MYP aims to do more than allow students to progress in different subject areas. It allows students to make connections to real-world experiences and take action within their communities as well as understand concepts and skills that can be applied and understood across subject areas. The aim of the MYP is to help students prepare for life as resilient and responsible citizens.
