One 100% temporary position for the school year 2025-2026
We are seeking a skilled, creative, and collaborative Middle Years Programme (MYP) Teacher of Norwegian Language and Literature in a 38% position and a 62% teacher assistant position from 01.08.2025 – 31.07.2026.
Tasks for Norwegian Language and Literature Teacher
- Lead learning for every student according to the IB guidelines
- Model the qualities of a life-long learner as well as the Learner Profile attributes
- Collaborate with colleagues to establish and lead optimal learning experiences
- Encourage students to develop effective approaches to learning
- Plan engaging and varied learning situations to enhance the curriculum (incl. ICT and outdoor experiences)
- Assess, evaluate and report on students’ development
- Monitor and follow up on students’ wellbeing
- Actively promote the school-wide expectations
- Report to the MYP Coordinator
Qualifications and Experiences
- Approved relevant teacher education
- Fluency in English
- Fluency in Norwegian
- Current police record check (politiattest) must be provided if offered a position
- If you are educated outside of Norway, a teacher degree certification and a recognition from HKDIR is desired
- International work experience is desired, but not required
- Knowledge about the IB programs is desired, but not required.
There is a legal requirement to provide a police certificate ahead of the commencement of the role.
Tasks for Special Needs/Teaching Assistant:
The role will largely entail support of individual students within the inclusive classroom, and in individual and small group pull out sessions. Close collaboration with the class teacher will be required.
- Support preparation, implementation and assessment by following up on single rights decisions and Individual Education Plans as directed by the class teacher and special pedagog
- Support and implement student behavior management practices
- Supervise students outside of the classroom (pullout sessions, lunch and duties)
- Support learning opportunities outside of the classroom e.g. trips, events
- Ensure a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment

As a substitute, you will step in when needed to supervise and engage children in a safe, fun, and nurturing environment. Responsibilities include assisting with activities, ensuring children’s well-being, and fostering a positive atmosphere.
