Principal’s Welcome
Welcome to the website of Trondheim International School, one of Norway’s leading international schools. The school has been building an excellent reputation in education since 2004.
The school provides children from 3 to 16 with a high quality education in a safe, caring and multicultural learning environment.
The school is located in Trondheim, the third biggest city in Norway. The town is set on a beautiful fjord and is surrounded by mountain ranges. The central town area includes the magnificent Nidaros Cathedral. Colorful buildings and houses line the edge of the beautiful Nidelven River.
The school is located centrally in a green park area where there is plenty of opportunities for outdoor activities and easy access to town facilities such as the town library and an indoor pool.
The school grounds are fenced in, and children can explore the outdoors both during the summer time and winter season when the slopes are covered with snow, – perfect for sledding!
Our strategic plan coupled with the IB curriculum enables us to adopt an outward looking and future’s orientated approach to program design and delivery. We recognize that each child is part of a community, yet we value uniqueness of personal character and encourage all children to express their thoughts and feelings freely and respectfully. We create learning experiences that support the development of skills that will enable them to work and live effectively in a global world. Through a successful partnership with parents from over 38 nationalities, the school embraces and celebrates cultural diversity.
