Trondheim International School’s Criteria for prioritized acceptance and the area in which the daycare center serves;
Trondheim International School has Trondheim Kommune as the primary area where children are served. However, ThIS preschool will accept children with addresses in other municipalities (kommune) in the case that the child has a sibling at Trondheim International School, the family is planning to have their child attend the school or the child has a parent who is employed in the school or the preschool. The preschool is open to children aged 3 to 6.
- Children with the right to a prioritized daycare center (barnehage). (Children with disabilities, Children with needs from social services, Other special needs. As per Søkere med rett til prioritet etter barnehageloven. Paragragh 13: Dette gjelder barn med nedsatt funksjonsevene og barn som det er fattet vedtak om etter lov om barneverntjenster 4-12 og 4-4 annet og fjerde ledd.
- Children who have siblings in the preschool or in Trondheim International School
- Children with English as first language.
- Children of international families.
- Five year olds or other children who will turn five within the calendar year.
Applications are prioritized after the date in which they are received
In addition to filling an application with THIS Barnehage, note that you also need to fill an application with Trondheim Kommune (municipality). Applications must be received by Trondheim Kommune, Barnehageservice between 1st of Jan – 1st of Feb for children transferring from other Trondheim preschools and by the 1st of Jan – 1st of March for all other applicants. This can be done online at www.trondheim.kommune.no
You can also apply outside of these dates, but will only be served if there is an opening during the preschool year.
