Dear Parents and Caregivers,
Our school nurse has been in contact with the infection prevention consultant in Trondheim Municipality and attached is their advice.
This information is from the 23rd of January and it is based on the recommendation from the Norwegian Institute of Public Health (NHI).
The situation can change rapidly, in which case, the advice will be updated.
At the moment, there is no reason to keep home healthy children who have traveled from areas with outbreaks unless they have respiratory symptoms.
The same applies to those who come from the Wuhan or Hubei area unless they have had close contact with/taken care of or visited the homes of a person who has been diagnosed with the disease. Those who have had close contact should be examined and tested for the virus.
It also applies to brief contact for up to 15 minutes, less than 1 meter with a person diagnosed with the disease, they should be examined and tested for the virus.
