 <br />
Finally spring is here. Spring is the time for several great and important activities. One of them is the THIS Preschool&#8217;s Annual General Meeting (AGM).<br />
 <br />
This year our AGM will be held in the canteen on Wednesday 9th of May at 17.00. Under the menu Governance (or the link <a href="http://this.no/preschool-agm-2012/">http://this.no/preschool-agm-2012/</a> ) you will find the invitation to the AGM with additional documents. The annual report and the preschool bylaws are official documents and must therefore be in Norwegian. The board will make sure that there is an English translation of the bylaws in the future.<br />
 <br />
Please note that preschool staff and children will prepare a preschool art exhibition from 15.30 on the same day. The board wish to invite the preschool families and staff for a vegetarian soup with bread from 16.00. The preschool will arrange for babysitting during the AGM.<br />
 <br />
We hope to see you on the 9th of May.<br />

<p>We are now offering the students a lot of activities during the afternoon and in the morning. The clubs will be teachers, SFO staff and MYP students. The clubs will be open for students in Year 1-6.</p>
<p>We want your child to stay in our safe environment highly educated after school activities.</p>
<p>Click here for (<a href="http://this.no/wp-content/uploads/SFO-Clubs-Description-April-2012.pdf">Descriptions for Clubs</a>) and (<a href="http://this.no/wp-content/uploads/after-school-learning-program-April-2012.pdf">April ASL</a>) for more information regarding some clubs which are divided into age groups and some have limited space.</p>
<p>So please sit down with your child and look through the clubs. As soon as they have found something they are especially interested in, you can sign up by emailing Ms.Mascha (mascha@this.no) your child&#8217;s name, the year level and which club they want to join. The clubs will start in week 17 (23.04.2012). You can choose only one club a day because they all run at the same.</p>
<p>The students come down to the lunchroom after school, get a snack and then they will go into their clubs from 15.00-16.30. They need to be picked up or leave the school at 16.30. Please let me know about your childs transport details.</p>

<p>You need to sign up for one period with one month notice.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Just a reminder that the Family Maths Night is on Wednesday, April 25th, 2012 from 1800 to 1900. Since it is just before the AGM, we will have babysitting between 19.00&#8211;21.00 by Year 10 students.</p>
<p>We have a lot of activities in different areas of maths across all the subjects for your kids from Pre-school to Year 10. We will have maths games on iPads, card game &#8221; Snapper&#8221; in Spanish/French, body mass index in physical education, scaling in art and  Fibonacci sequence in Humanities, online lab in science and more!</p>
<p>We would like to welcome you all to a wonderful maths night with your kids. If you have an ipad/iphone, please bring it along.</p>

<p>On Tuesday 17th April at 6:00 PM the Parent Committee will organize the spring Open-house meeting (click <a href="http://this.no/wp-content/uploads/Open-House-Meeting-17.04.pdf" target="_blank">here</a> for more information), and we ask you to please save the date. In accordance with the PC bylaws (click <a href="http://this.no/wp-content/uploads/PC-Bylaws.pdf" target="_blank">here</a>), the meeting is held prior to the AGM, and the purpose of the meeting is to provide information to parents and to be a forum for discussion of current issues of interest.</p>
<p>Suggestions to the PC Open-house meeting shall be forwarded, in writing, at least one week prior to the meeting. The final meeting agenda shall be available one week before meeting.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Dear Parents and Caregivers</p>
<p>As you may know our school has been involved in a Comenius project that involves 5 other countries (Bulgaria, Turkey, Poland, Germany and Romania). The trips that we have taken so far are; to Romania (23<sup>rd</sup> – 29<sup>th</sup> October 2011) and to Turkey (25<sup>th</sup>-31<sup>st</sup> March 2012). In May (12<sup>th</sup>- 19<sup>th</sup>).</p>
<p>Now it is our turn to host the visiting students and teachers from these countries in our school community. For this to happen we need the support of the school community to host the visiting students. At the moment, we definitely have 13 students coming in the MYP age range.  There will be various arranged activities throughout the week with our visitors. A detailed agenda of these activities is being developed by the teachers in our school. These activities will be aligned with our project’s aims.</p>
<p><strong>Our projects main aims are:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Acquaint ourselves with history of our nations and others to learn openness and tolerance.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Young generation lives in the present so the aim of the project is to interest schoolchildren in history.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Familiarize students with historical events connected with their region, get to know places, arouse students’ interest from the past and its influence on the present.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Learning about history of the other European countries and finally the connection between history and culture of their own nations and their impact on the present Europe’s shape.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Finding cultural identity, especially by migrants.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Workshop for the exchange teaching methods of history, culture, literature.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Development of language skills concerned with daily routines.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Development of language skills concerned with the main topic of the project</li>
</ul>
